Enjoy an afternoon of Italy's finest music presented by the 30-piece Yonkers Concert Band. Formed in 1941 and now the last surviving Italian Concert Band in the tri-state area. Performance includes vocal selections by a guest soprano and tenor, marches, operatic highlights, and a sing-along of Neapolitan songs, with lyrics provided to the audience. Sponsored by the Yonkers Columbus Day Celebration Committee and the City of Yonkers Office of Mayor Philip Amicone. v

Mr. Chiarelli has performed extensively in the New York Metropolitan area with many opera companies, and in concert halls, churches, colleges and restaurants. ADULT HANDS-ON/COOKING CLASS—PASTA MAKING II

If you'd like to learn how to create a wide array of pastas in many styles to suit any occasion, we have a great hands-on cooking class for you! Roll up your sleeves and dig right in! In our pasta series, students will learn the fundamentals of preparing hand-made pasta at home in an interactive format. From making the perfect dough to preparing a complementing sauce, this class will show you how, including lots of tips and cooking techniques that are sure to expand your knowledge. This class is an evening of fun that will encourage sharing information, family recipes and stories. A full plate of pasta with sauces will be served at the conclusion of the class. This class will feature three distinct filled pastas and three distinct recipes:

  • Walnut and Eggplant Ravioli in Tomato Sauce
  • Casoncei Bresciani (Sausage-filled pasta)
  • Tortellini in Brodo

ITALIAN FILM—KILL BABY KILL

Happy Halloween! In a remote Balkan village, the bodies of several townsfolk are discovered with gold coins embedded in their hearts. A physician concludes that the dead are victims of suicide, and that the coins have been inserted postmortem to ward off evil. The police soon realize the coins have a connection to a local curse involving the ghost of a little girl named Melissa. A classic chiller from Italian horror maestro Mario Bava, the 1966 film is in Italian with English subtitles.
