October is Italian Heritage and Culture Month

ABOUT THE WCIAO

We are an alliance of Italian American civic, educational and social groups based in the county of Westchester, NY, whose purpose is to preserve, promote, celebrate and share Italian and Italian American history, culture, and ideals, and further the study of the Italian language in our schools.

The year 2011 marks the 150th Anniversary of the unification of Italy, and we celebrate this defining event as it commemorates the ideals if unity, liberty and independence—cornerstones of our own American values that we hold so dear.   Learn more about this important milestone here.
